Julie Barker brings a unique combination of management consulting expertise and senior operational leadership experience to her consulting and coaching engagements .
Julie began her career in investment management joining The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where she spent nearly 25 years at . In the early part of her tenure, she advised consumer and industrial clients and led North American training for college graduates new to BCG. She later transitioned into operational leadership where she designed and built the real estate and a safety and security functions for the firm. In her final years at BCG, Julie oversaw the firm’s CEO election process, bi-annual Partner meeting, and the promotion process for Senior Partners.
For the past six years, Julie has advised other partnerships— primarily private equity firms— on people strategy and operational effectiveness. Having been a key decision-maker in high-stakes environments where leadership potential and performance were rigorously evaluated, she understands how to communicate with impact, drive organizational change, and succeed at the highest levels. Her trusted-advisor approach combines strategic insight, candor, and supportive encouragement, enabling clients to strengthen their leadership presence, inspire their teams, and deliver results.
She is a member of the Board of Directors of The Conservation Fund, where she chairs the Governance Committee . She holds a BA in History from Yale, an MBA from Harvard, an ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation, and Certified Executive and Career Coach credentials from the Center for Executive Coaching. She lives outside Boston with her husband, two college-aged daughters, five chickens, and thousands of bees .
